How it fits into your company
Bring the policies, service material and operating documents your teams maintain in SharePoint into their AI work. Steer uses a bounded Microsoft 365 Files connection: an administrator selects the shared site and source area, then defines where that knowledge should apply. Source documents remain in Microsoft 365.
What this can help with
- Use the current shared commercial terms when drafting a proposal.
- Explain a process from the designated policy document rather than an older copied file.
- Reference a team’s approved operating material with links back to SharePoint.
Getting started
- A Microsoft administrator grants the application access to an explicitly selected site.
- Select a suitable shared source root and audience in Steer.
- Verify supported documents, updates and access loss before employee use.
Connection scope
Supported extraction includes Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), PowerPoint (.pptx), text-based PDF and supported text formats. Extraction retrieves document text, not a live Office editing session.
- The initial shared lane proves application access to the selected container, not complete per-employee Microsoft ACL equivalence.
- Restricted team or executive delivery needs separately proven authorisation.
- Scanned PDFs, protected files and unsupported document structures may need additional handling; file support does not imply OCR or spreadsheet recalculation.
