How it fits into your company
Useful knowledge often lives next to code: product definitions, technical standards, methodologies and operating documentation. Steer makes selected repository material available to the appropriate company audience, with links back to its source. Non-technical employees can use that context in their AI tools without navigating a repository.
What this can help with
- Explain the current methodology from its maintained repository document.
- Ground a product brief in the designated requirements source.
- Reference engineering standards in a handoff without copying them into every prompt.
Getting started
- Install the GitHub app for explicitly selected repositories.
- Choose the documentation roots to include and their Steer audience.
- Verify the selected content, source updates and appropriate access before publication.
Scope and availability
- An installation’s repository access does not prove each employee’s access. Shared roots require an explicit, suitable audience.
- Do not route executive, personal or client-sensitive repositories through an ordinary shared-source setup.
- Steer is read-only with respect to original repository files.
