How it fits into your company
Business knowledge is often maintained in Office files. Steer can extract supported content from selected shared OneDrive for Business roots using the same Microsoft 365 Files adapter as SharePoint. The owner chooses what is suitable for a shared audience. This is not an automatic import of everyone’s personal drive.
What this can help with
- Use an approved service overview maintained in Word.
- Reference a current presentation’s product definitions.
- Retrieve documented assumptions from a supported workbook without treating it as a calculation engine.
Getting started
- An administrator establishes the selected Microsoft 365 shared container and application access.
- Choose the specific source area and suitable company or team audience.
- Check extraction, source freshness and access behaviour with representative files.
Connection scope
Supported extraction includes .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, text-based PDF and supported text formats. Password-protected or unsupported files are not silently treated as readable.
- Personal folders and private employee files are outside the shared-source offer.
- Application-level access is not proof of each employee’s Microsoft permissions.
- Consumer OneDrive, workbook execution, Office editing and source write-back are not included.
